Hi, I'm Kirsten Miccoli, the lifestyle, beauty, and portrait photographer/director you'll often find in the vibrant city of Chicago, IL. I've been immersed in the photography world for more than 16 years, and in that time, I've had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with some of the worlds largest brands, magazines and celebrities.
My sweet spot is where editorial and advertising collide, and that's where my unique vision comes to life. I love coming together with people from all walks of life to craft imaginative and eye-catching content.
I originally hail from Upstate New York, but I've called the Midwest home since I was 10 years old. My photography journey started when I was just 13, armed with my very first camera. By 15, I was already diving into creating intricate self-portraits using random stuff I found around the house. I followed my passion and attended Columbia College Chicago, earning my BFA in 2010. Now, at 35, I'm the proud owner of a studio right here in Chicago, but I'm also constantly on the move, traveling the world to serve my clients.
My background in fashion editorial and documentary photography means I can adapt and thrive in fast-paced situations. I bring a laid-back and flexible vibe to my projects. One of my standout skills is making my subjects feel at ease in front of the camera, no matter their experience level. I specialize in capturing those candid moments, even in meticulously planned setups. I'm a firm believer that a fun and positive atmosphere on set, combined with my extensive experience, leads to the best results.
When I'm not busy directing, you'll often find me making friends with any furry or feathered creatures I come across, enjoying my little backyard sanctuary, or embarking on epic quests with my Dungeons and Dragons crew. I share my life with my husband, Stephen, and and our beloved rescued dogs and pigeons. I love traveling, discovering new music, making cocktails, hanging out with my friends and family and I am always down for a good slice of pepperoni pizza.
